Just a reminder that Easter Sunday is one of the better times to invite friends, family, coworkers, or anyone else in your sphere of influence, who does not attend a church or who is even a spiritual skeptic, to our service.
Almost everyone recognizes Easter as a good and appropriate time to “check in” with the church and with things spiritual. My message is going to be especially evangelistic. God honors his people when they make much of his gospel. It will be a beautiful time. All of these reasons add up to you having every reason to take that leap of faith by asking people to come to church with you. The worst that can happen is that they say no. If you are polite, I don’t think you will lose reputation. If you do lose reputation, Christ is worth it, and that is just what happens when Christians live conspicuously! By the way, someone reminded me today that if people know you are a Christian and yet you have never invited them to church, they may think you don’t actually want them there. Something to think about.
Pray for opportunity. Pray for them to say yes. Pray that the Spirit gives them new life this Sunday! May this be another step toward revival as we celebrate the heart of our faith – that Jesus was raised from the dead and now is seated at the right hand of God the Father! That is true. That changes everything.
